Creative Control²²⁵

Age: 5| Weight: 11-2| J: Theo Gillard⁽⁵⁾| T: D McCain Jnr

14/1

Battle of Marengo gelding who finished runner-up on the second of 2 outings in points but offered little on Rules debut when fourth at Catterick back in February. Big step forward required.

Form: 5/24-

Outback Frontiers¹²²

Age: 5| Weight: 11-2| J: Adam Wedge| T: J G M O'Shea

18/1

Sans Frontieres gelding. Dam unraced. Runner-up on second of 2 starts in Irish points (May 30).

Form: 5-2

Rose Kar⁶⁴

Age: 5| Weight: 11-2| J: Jack Tudor⁽³⁾| T: Christian Williams

33/1

Spider Flight gelding who shaped like a stayer when fifth at Worcester 9 weeks ago. Will need to leave build on that effort significantly to feature.

Form: 5

Surtitle

Age: 5| Weight: 11-2| J: P J Brennan| T: F O'Brien

15/8

€62,000 3-y-o, Presenting gelding. Dam unraced sister to top-class hurdler/very smart chaser (2m-21f winner) Oscar Whisky. Newcomers from yard often fancied.

Form:

Minella Plus²⁵

Age: 4| Weight: 11-0| J: B S Hughes| T: D McCain Jnr

13/2

Walk In The Park gelding who was last of 5 finishers on his sole outing in points but shaped as if better for the run when third at Stratford on NH debut 25 days ago, staying on well final 100 yds.

Form: 53

Mr Tristar

Age: 4| Weight: 11-0| J: Sam Twiston-Davies| T: N & W Twiston-Davies

10/1

Grand Finale gelding. Dam (h89) 17f-2¾m hurdle winner. Certainly worth a market check on debut.

Form:

William Ewart⁴¹

Age: 4| Weight: 11-0| J: Nick Scholfield| T: Christian Williams

33/1

Sageburg gelding who shaped with promise when fifth of 13 in bumper at Stratford (16.3f, good) on NH debut 41 days ago. Likely to come on from that so not dismissed lightly.

Form: 5

La Cachemira¹⁴

Age: 5| Weight: 10-9| J: Mr Benjamin Abbott⁽¹⁰⁾| T: T Collier

200/1

Joshua Tree mare who had a breathing operation prior to debut and could hardly have shown any less at Kelso a fortnight ago. Easy to look elsewhere.

Form: 7

Non-Runners

Pennant Empress

Weight: 10-9| Age: 5

T: Mrs D A Hamer J: Ben Jones

Forecasts

At Poets Cross (6/4), Surtitle (15/8), Minella Plus (13/2), Mr Tristar (10/1), Creative Control (14/1), Outback Frontiers (18/1), William Ewart (33/1), Rose Kar (33/1), Pennant Empress (33/1), La Cachemira (200/1)

It's tough to get away from AT POETS CROSS, who was left behind only late on by a rival receiving lots of weight at Lingfield back in February and, provided he's ready to roll, Nicky Henderson's charge should take all the beating. Minella Plus was doing his best work at the finish at Stratford earlier this month so he could provide the main threat, ahead of Fergal O'Brien's newcomer Surtitle.
