Overcame inexperience to land 6f maiden at Ayr on debut in June. Stepped up on that form when fourth at Thirsk last month, faring best of those held up, and may do better still now stepping up to 7f.

Showed a good attitude to share the spoils at Newcastle in June. Not seen to best effect up in trip at Wolverhampton subsequently and it's likely this type of scenario will suit him better.

£22,000 Ribchester colt who was strong in betting and duly made a successful bow in 7f Redcar novice. Could only match that form when third under a penalty at Ripon but may do better now handicapping.

Verdict

SIR MIN made a good start for his new stable when a keeping-on second at Pontefract last week, a performance which can be marked up having met some trouble, so he's one to be interested in now stepping back up in trip. Flaming Lord's opening mark looks a fair one so he's entitled to go well. Exminster retains potential now tackling nursery company for the first time and completes the shortlist.

  1. SIR MIN (IRE)
  2. FLAMING LORD
  3. EXMINSTER (IRE)
