Four-time Flat winner in 2020 who signing off with a good third at over C&D. Below best all 3 starts this term and has plenty to prove at present. Hopes pinned on first-time cheekpieces.
C&D winner. Not seen to best effect in a modestly-run affair when last of 6 in handicap (20/1) at Nottingham (16f, good) 24 days ago, needing stiffer test. Not dismissed.
First outing on turf when getting off the mark in 16-runner York handicap in May, easily. Also very impressive at Newmarket but has failed to see his race out on last couple of starts. Upped in trip.
Seven wins from 19 Flat runs. Latest win at Doncaster in April. Beaten a long way on last 3 starts though, latest when fourth of 6 in handicap at Beverley 55 days ago. Must bounce back but can.
Sixth of 7 in handicap at Ripon (16f, good, 11/1) 14 days ago, unsuited by emphasis on speed. On a good mark if this switch back to the all-weather can spark a revival.
Course winner. 3 wins from 10 runs this year. Latest win at York in May. Cheekpieces on, second of 5 in handicap at Carlisle (14.2f, good to firm, 15/2) 19 days ago, off the bridle long way out.
Back to winning ways at Chelmsford (13f) in April. Mostly creditable efforts since, including when fourth in first-time cheekpieces at Nottingham last month. Player with Tom Marquand booked.
Progressive last season. Form seems to have levelled off now but he went like the best horse at the weights when third at Nottingham last month and is one to be interested in from this sort of mark.
C&D winner. 3 wins from 5 runs (at Southwell) this year. Latest win there in March. Again ran poorly when fourth of 7 in handicap at same track(18.4f, 3/1). Off 130 days. May need this outing.
Winner at Southwell in April. 11/2, creditable third of 9 in handicap at Chelmsford City (16f) 22 days ago. One to consider.

Forecasts
Spanish Kiss (16/5), Soros (10/3), Margaret Dumont (4/1), Monsieur Lambrays (11/2), Raymond (7/1), Ben Lilly (14/1), Stargazer (20/1), Notation (22/1), Solo Saxophone (25/1), Ravenscar (66/1)
A host in with chances in this feature contest but it could pay to side with MONSIEUR LAMBRAYS. Tom Clover's charge went like the best horse at the weights when finishing a close third at Nottingham last month and he gets the vote to open his account for the year with Jack Mitchell back on board. Spanish Kiss, Margaret Dumont and Stargazer head up the possible dangers in that order.
- MONSIEUR LAMBRAYS
- SPANISH KISS
- MARGARET DUMONT (IRE)
