Twenty two runs since last win in 2018 but he ran well off his reduced mark when second at Newton Abbot (21.5f) in refitted cheekpieces (retained) 15 days ago. Back down significantly in trip now.
Fair middle-distance handicapper on Flat for Heather Main. Opened hurdles account in impressive fashion over C&D in July and ran just as well when third in Class 2 back here since. Big player.
Maiden hurdler who posted one of his best efforts when 6 lengths third of 8 in 2m Hexham handicap 5 days ago. Ought to be in the mix again if showing up in similar form.
Showed improved form when off the mark in 15-runner Sligo handicap 19 days ago. More needed if he's to follow up off this mark but he is unexposed.
Just one win from 28 hurdle starts but it did come over C&D. Step back in the right direction when 5 lengths seventh of 16 at Sligo (20.5f) 19 days ago and claims if he can build on that now.
Hit a real purple patch in the spring, winning at Carlisle and Newcastle. Off since a lesser run at Ayr in May and perhaps best watched on this occasion.
Has enjoyed a productive summer, winning over hurdles here and fences at Cartmel. Ran as well as could be expected from a long way out of the handicap back at Cartmel last time. Respected.
Third in a Down Royal maiden last summer but has yet to make much of an impact in handicaps. Others more obvious.
Modest on the Flat and over hurdles and well behind Island Nation over C&D when last seen at the end of July.
Runner-up twice in novice hurdles at start of 2021 but seems to have lost her way, making little impact on both completed starts this term. Given a chance by handicapper but too much to prove.

Forecasts
Island Nation (9/4), Speredek (5/2), Go Fox (6/1), Sword Of Fate (13/2), Mullins Cross (17/2), Oromo (16/1), Kitty Hall (25/1), Old Jewry (28/1), Fowlplay (33/1), Scots Sonnet (33/1)
ISLAND NATION fared pretty well in a Class 2 over C&D last month and is fancied to resume winning ways back at this lower level. Sword of Fate has had a good spell over hurdles and fences this summer and should play a part again, while Irish-raider Mullins Cross is also respected on the back of her improved win at Sligo last month.
- ISLAND NATION (IRE)
- SWORD OF FATE (IRE)
- MULLINS CROSS (IRE)
