3/1

11/2, first run since leaving A. Slattery when fourth of 7 in handicap at Yarmouth (6f, good) 15 days ago. Now 1 lb lower in a very winnable race, so he has to be high on the shortlist.

Wootton Creek³⁸

3/1

13/2, last of 7 in handicap at Brighton (9.9f, good) 38 days ago, possibly amiss. Clearly has something to prove, but drop back in trip will help and she is dangerous to discount at this level.

Form: 27-3447

(3)

Donizetti^t¹¹⁸

Age: 3| Weight: 8-13| J: S H James| T: K Dalgleish| OR: 57WS

10/3

Lightly-raced maiden. 9/1, last of 10 in handicap at Wolverhampton (9.5f). Off 118 days. Since undergone a wind op and drop back in trip here, but he's hard to warm to all the same.

Form: 076-60

13/2

Forecasts

Basharat (3/1), Wootton Creek (3/1), Donizetti (10/3), Heart Throb (6/1), Julie Johnston (13/2), Fliss Floss (11/1), Little Gem (66/1)

The most attractive proposition on show here is HEART THROB, who is the least exposed of these and appears to have been brought along with handicaps very much in mind, judged on her latest improved effort in a Redcar novice. Irish-import Basharat shaped with encouragement on debut for new connections at Yarmouth, but Wootton Creek has slipped to a dangerous mark and she is feared most.
