Confirmed himself fully effective on turf when second at Ayr (10f) in July, finishing strongly having conceded first run. Not seen to best effect at Chester since and he's interesting up at 1½m.

Telescope filly who showed a bit when 11 lengths fifth in a Haydock maiden (11.6f) in June. Not built on that in 2 subsequent starts but step back up in trip/switch to handicaps rates a plus.

Showed much-improved form when making all at Chepstow (1½m) in June (final start for Roger Varian). Acquired for 28,000 gns thereafter and he may yet have a little more to offer. Cheekpieces on.

Modicum of promise amidst greenness in trio of novice events at up to 12f earlier this year. Never figured in pair of handicaps thereafter (folded tamley latterly) but given a break since.

Son of Frankel who hasn't offered a great deal in a trio of maiden/minor events at up to 11f in recent months. However, he boasts a useful pedigree and may do better now handicapping.

Modest maiden who stepped up on previous efforts this year when 2 lengths third of 11 at Nottingham (10.2f) in April. Below that level on return from a break at Wolverhampton in July, though.

Gained breakthrough success from 3 lb lower mark over extended 9f here in May. However, unable to match that level in handful of outings since and others arrive with more pressing claims.

Forecasts

Two Brothers (13/8), We Still Believe (7/2), George Bancroft (5/1), This Ones For Fred (7/1), Uccello (8/1), Wildcitydiva (14/1), Graces Quest (20/1), Mount Olympus (33/1)

Verdict

Having confirmed himself fully effective on turf when runner-up at Ayr 2 starts back, TWO BROTHERS backed up that effort and would have finished closer still but for being hampered 1f out when fifth at Chester last time. He's fancied to do better still and can go well now tackling 1½m. We Still Believe and George Bancroft rate next best. Uccello is worth monitoring in the betting for clues.

  1. TWO BROTHERS
  2. WE STILL BELIEVE (IRE)
  3. GEORGE BANCROFT
