20/1

Posted a couple of creditable efforts in the spring. Not at his best in the Northumberland Plate when last seen in June but does at least have a lower mark to work with on the grass.

Margaret Dumont^p1¹⁴

Age: 4| Weight: 9-13| J: Cieren Fallon| T: H Palmer| OR: 88

Back to winning ways at Chelmsford (13f) in April. Mostly creditable efforts since, including when sixth of 20 over a marathon trip at Goodwood a fortnight ago. Cheekpieces on first time.

Monsieur Lambrays^v²⁰

Age: 5| Weight: 9-11| J: Rob Hornby| T: Tom Clover| OR: 86| D

Progressive last season. Form seems to have levelled off now but latest third of 8 over 2m at York was creditable. Another who should have a part to play.

Form: 105-403

Byron Hill²³

Age: 4| Weight: 9-0| J: Louis Steward| T: C Fellowes| OR: 75

Definite improvement this season, winning at Yarmouth before shaping better than the bare result in Northumberland Vase at Newcastle. Fair fifth over 1¾m at Sandown latest and return to 2m a help.

Forecasts

Speedo Boy (2/1), Byron Hill (10/3), Roar (10/3), Goobinator (4/1), Margaret Dumont (5/1), Coeur de Lion (8/1), Monsieur Lambrays (9/1), Vis A Vis (14/1), Stargazer (20/1)

An open staying event in which a chance is taken on VIS A VIS who shaped as if retaining plenty of ability on last month's comeback run at Ascot and is very well weighted on his best form. Last week's Ffos Las scorer Roar and the Charlie Fellowes-trained Byron Hill are two of many others who could go well.
