Group 3 winner in France during 2-y-o campaign and has put in decent shifts in 6f Newmarket handicaps the last twice. However, it's doubtful that his current mark leaves any margin for error.

Return to this trip brought about an improved display when a close fourth (first home on the unfavoured near side) in a valuable Newmarket handicap last month. 2 lb rise fair and bold show likely.

Raced on the favoured far side when third (just ahead of Royal Scimitar) in a big-field Newmarket handicap in July. Successful at Doncaster (6f) since, but this 5 lb higher mark demands more.

Plenty of solid efforts to her name at 2 yrs, but she hasn't kicked on this season and mark for this handicap debut looks challenging.

Progressive sprinter who bagged handicaps at Carlisle and Kempton before finishing a fine fourth of 19 at the Royal meeting here (5f). Big player with this step back up in trip a good move.

Dual 6f winner at 2 yrs and appeared to get back on track when sixth in an 11-runner Doncaster handicap last month. Well held at Goodwood since, though, and others make greater appeal now.

Won twice as a juvenile, including a big pot at the Curragh. Posted much his best effort so far this season when third at Goodwood (7f) last weekend and not without each-way hope off 1 lb lower here.

Improved when landing back-to-back 6f handicaps in June, but he was behind a few of these at Newmarket's July meeting and latest effort there suggested that his limitations are now exposed.

Won over 6f at Chester and Newbury this summer, and lost little caste in defeat when finding just one too good in 6f Goodwood fillies' handicap 11 days ago. RESERVE.

Forecasts

Popmaster (9/4), Dream Composer (9/2), Royal Scimitar (5/1), Cairn Gorm (8/1), Mitrosonfire (17/2), Shark Two One (10/1), Temple Bruer (14/1), Bowman (14/1), Crazy Luck (16/1), Mamba Wamba (16/1), Internationaldream (16/1), Fantasy Master (20/1)

Verdict

ROYAL SCIMITAR looks the way to go on the back of his superb effort in a big handicap at Newmarket where he was the clear winner of those that raced on the unfavoured side of the track. He was just a short-head adrift of the third, Popmaster, and meets that rival on 5 lb better terms here. The progressive Dream Composer is clear second choice, while Shark Two One makes some each-way appeal.

  1. ROYAL SCIMITAR (IRE)
  2. DREAM COMPOSER (FR)
  3. SHARK TWO ONE
