In good form at present, taking his record at Haydock to 3 wins from 4 starts last month, suited by way race developed. Essentially undone by a rise in the weights at York next time, however.

Group 2/3 winner in his pomp for Godolphin. Not so good nowadays but still very useful, taking advantage of reduced mark at Windsor before creditable third at Ayr. Should go well again.

Clearly right back in the groove after a slow start to the campaign, winning at Sandown in May before good third at Salisbury following month. That form looks solid and yard remain in excellent form.

Ascot specialist, winning here 4 times, including this race in 2017. First home in group in Buckingham Palace at Royal meeting before shaping as if still in good form in International here.

Won big-field York handicap in October and best effort this year when hitting the frame in the Royal Hunt Cup. Excuses both starts since and can make presence felt.

Resumed winning ways when striking off 2 lb lower at Newmarket (1m) last term. Down the field at Newbury on return in April but shaped much better at Doncaster last week. Return to 1m will suit.

Dual winner at Chester last summer. Struggled in top handicaps at Royal Ascot and Newmarket but back on track when runner-up at Chester on Sunday. Respected off same mark.

Ex-Irish. Plenty of good efforts in defeat this season, including when placed in Buckingham Palace at the Royal Meeting and Bunbury Cup at Newmarket. Below par here since but type to bounce back.

Back to winning ways in 6-runner Newmarket handicap (10f) and possibly did too much too soon here next time. However, seemingly no excuses at Goodwood since and drops back in trip now.

Added to his good Epsom record when scoring by 3½ lengths over the extended 1m there on Oaks Day. However, stopped quickly in Golden Mile at Goodwood last week. RESERVE.

Forecasts

Dance Fever (11/4), Dashing Roger (5/1), Raising Sand (5/1), Ouzo (5/1), Revich (13/2), Bear Force One (8/1), Vintager (17/2), Data Protection (9/1), Young Fire (12/1), Lord Rapscallion (12/1), Power of Darkness (12/1), Corazon Espinado (50/1)

Verdict

DASHING ROGER comes here in the form of his life, winning at Sandown before an excellent third in a strong handicap at Salisbury, and should make another bold bid up only 1 lb. Dance Fever improved again when a close third in the International Stakes here 2 weeks ago and looks an obvious threat, while course-specialist Raising Sand is in better form than his recent form figures suggest.

  1. DASHING ROGER
  2. DANCE FEVER (IRE)
  3. RAISING SAND
