(6)

Captain Vallo⁷

Age: 3| Weight: 9-7| J: Rowan Scott| T: Phillip Makin| OR: 65

11/4

Lightly-raced maiden. Hooded for 1st time, creditable third of 12 in handicap (17/2) at Carlisle (5.8f, good) 7 days ago, staying on from 2f out. Likely capable of better and he's respected here.

Form: 7-253

Three Hat Day^h1²⁶

Age: 3| Weight: 9-7| J: Callum Rodriguez| T: M Dods| OR: 65

15/2

Lightly-raced maiden. 20/1, respectable fifth of 13 in handicap at Redcar (6f, good to firm) 26 days ago. Hood on 1st time and handicapper relinquishes his grip a little more.

Form: 63-475

(5)

Ireland's Eye²⁰

Age: 3| Weight: 9-4| J: Harrison Shaw| T: D Carroll| OR: 62

11/2

Canford Cliffs gelding who shaped well when fourth of 13 in handicap at Doncaster (6f, good, 22/1) 20 days ago, ridden more forward than the trio that beat him. One to consider.

Form: 5-894

(4)

Jianzi¹³

Age: 3| Weight: 9-2| J: G Lee| T: Jedd O'Keeffe| OR: 60| D

15/2

11/2, fifth of 8 in handicap at Doncaster (7f, good to firm) 13 days ago, possibly stretched by the trip. Return to 6f rates a likely plus on that evidence.

Form: 178-645

(1)

Naughty Ana^b⁸

Age: 3| Weight: 8-10| J: D Allan| T: T D Easterby| OR: 54

9/4

Creditable second of 11 in handicap (9/2) at Catterick (6f, good to soft) 8 days ago. Clearly in good heart at present and no surprise to see her in the shake up again.

Form: 830432

(2)

Sixcor¹⁰

Age: 3| Weight: 8-9| J: T Eaves| T: Miss L A Perratt| OR: 53

66/1

First run since leaving Mick Channon when ninth of 10 in handicap at Ayr (6f, good, 8/1) 10 days ago. Possible he'll come forward from that run but others arrive with more pressing claims.

Form: 00-7529

(7)

Desert Cat^p1⁷

Age: 3| Weight: 8-5| J: Jamie Gormley| T: E J Alston| OR: 49

16/1

Blinkered for 1st time, fifth of 8 in handicap (18/1) at Carlisle (6.9f, good) 7 days ago, racing too freely and weakening. Cheekpieces now the headgear of choice.

Form: 3-00205

(9)

Babe Alicious⁴⁸

Age: 3| Weight: 8-3| J: P Mathers| T: R A Fahey| OR: 47

17/2

Ninth of 11 in handicap (17/2) at Carlisle (5.8f, soft) 48 days ago, hampered after 1f and not seen to best effect. Handicapper has given her another nudge and she's not one to write off.

Form: 67653-9

Forecasts

Naughty Ana (9/4), Captain Vallo (11/4), Ireland's Eye (11/2), Three Hat Day (15/2), Jianzi (15/2), Babe Alicious (17/2), Sleight (10/1), Desert Cat (16/1), Sixcor (66/1)

CAPTAIN VALLO is a low-mileage sort who shaped well when staying on for third over slightly shorter at Carlisle 7 days ago. It's likely Phillip Makin's charge can do better still and earns the vote to come out on top. Ireland's Eye, who ran well at Doncaster, is a lead threat, as is the in-form Naughty Ana.
