Cheekpieces on for 1st time, eighth of 10 in handicap at Newmarket (6f, good, 16/1) 23 days ago. Significantly up in trip. On a workable looking mark and could outrun his odds.

Forecasts

Colonel Faulkner (6/5), Sir Edward Elgar (9/4), Baby Steps (8/1), Rafiki (8/1), Asdaa (12/1), Broxi (20/1), Delicate Kiss (20/1)

COLONEL FAULKNER ran well at Kempton given he raced prominently up with a strong pace. He looks handicapped to win and this looks a less competitive race than last time. Sir Edward Elgar is unexposed and represents a top yard on handicap debut so he has to be taken seriously. Broxi is on an attractive-looking mark and could offer some value at a bigger price.
