Didn't appear that well treated making handicap debut but showed improved form when a narrow winner at Newbury, suited by emphasis on stamina. First 3 finished clear that day so player up 4 lb.

Much improved from debut when winning novice at Kempton and not seen to best effect under a penalty there next time. Remains with potential on handicap/turf debut.

Dual winner in 2020 and creditable effort in defeat all 4 starts this season. Up in trip now and likely to stay.

Took her form up a notch when getting off the mark at the sixth attempt in 8-runner maiden at Chelmsford City (10f) 3 weeks ago. Respected back in a handicap. Entered 7.20 Newbury Thursday.

Proved a different proposition from her 2 starts at 2 yrs when fourth at Newbury on return. However, failed to land short odds on handicap bow at Ascot next time and out of depth in Ribblesdale since.

Forecasts

Gwenhwyvar (9/4), Garden Paradise (10/3), Percy's Pride (7/2), Goolwa (7/2), Basilicata (9/1)

Verdict

All 5 need considering but GARDEN PARADISE showed a good attitude along with plenty of stamina when making a winning handicap bow at Newbury and looks up to defying a 4 lb rise up against 3-y-os. Goolwa is a promising type going into handicaps and rates the main threat.

  1. GARDEN PARADISE (IRE)
  2. GOOLWA (IRE)
  3. BASILICATA (IRE)
