Speedily-bred sort who was backed at long odds and duly made a winning start at Haydock (6f) 18 days ago, running green but edging ahead on post. More to come with that under his belt.

Improved with each outing in minor/maiden company, again finding only one too good at Brighton (6f) in May. Never on terms when midfield in the Coventry (6f) since but this is more suitable.

Promising sort. Who looked a shade unfortunate not to come out on top when second of 9 in maiden at York (6f, good to firm, 13/2) on debut 16 days ago. Another likely to improve and shortlisted.

Thrice-raced maiden. 6/4, third of 7 in maiden at Beverley (7.4f, good to firm) 6 days ago, leading until over 1f out but no extra late on. Still, this is more demanding and others make greater appeal

Winner on debut at Goodwood (6f) in June. 10¾ lengths twelfth of 15 to Sandrine in Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot (6f) 10 days ago. This is less demanding and no surprise to see her get back on the up.

Forecasts

Gis A Sub (5/4), Sam Maximus (9/4), Hellomydarlin (4/1), Dashing Rat (9/1), Lethal Levi (12/1), Mr Coalville (20/1)

Verdict

GIS A SUB showed plenty of ability when runner-up on debut at York 16 days ago, keeping on well and a shade unfortunate to lose out on the nod. Open to improvement, he's fancied to make a bold bid from a low draw. Haydock-winner Sam Maximus is also entitled to do better and is feared, ahead of Dashing Rat, who will find this easier than his Royal Ascot assignment.

  1. GIS A SUB (IRE)
  2. SAM MAXIMUS
  3. DASHING RAT
