From the family of smart sprinter Louis The Pious and showed a bit when seventh of 10 (6/1) at Carlisle (5.8f, good) on debut 14 days ago. Could do better up in trip now.

Foaled March 12. £14,000 yearling, Kendargent colt. Half-brother to 5f-7f winner Merhoob and 1m-10.7f winner The Tulip, both useful. Interesting newcomer.

Just modest form in 3 runs at up to this trip. Needs fitting of blinkers to bring about big improvement.

Foaled February 6. £11,000 yearling, Sea The Moon filly. Dam unraced half-sister to smart winner up to 1¼m Tickle Me Green. Bred for further and probably best watched on debut.

Twice-raced filly. 10/1 and visored for 1st time, improved when second of 10 in seller at Redcar (7f, good) 10 days ago, slowly away. More needed again.
|
Timeform
50/1, promising eighth of 20 in seller at York (6f, good) first time up 17 days ago, not knocked about. Should have more to offer and interesting in a race that's probably not as strong as that one.

Forecasts

Whitcliffe (13/8), Chief's Will (7/4), The Grey Lass (4/1), Fast Beauty (4/1), Lightening Gesture (9/2), Hot Love (9/1), Fille De La Lune (16/1), On The Hook (66/1)

Verdict

A lowly-looking maiden that could go to THE GREY LASS. She wasn't knocked about on debut in the valuable York seller earlier this month and could have more to offer at the second time of asking stepped up in trip. Whitcliffe probably wouldn't need to be anything out of the ordinary to make an impact first time up for Mark Johnston. Lightening Gesture may do better.

  1. THE GREY LASS
  2. WHITCLIFFE (IRE)
  3. LIGHTENING GESTURE
