Coral Proud Supporter Of British Racing EBF Maiden Stakes

Off time: 16:04 | Winning time: 2m 10.56s

(5)

Sobriquet⁷²⁸

Age: 4| Weight: 9-9| J: Elisha Whittington⁽⁵⁾| T: E De Giles

80/1

Runner-up at Bath (5f, good to soft) on second of his 2 starts as a juvenile, but missed whole of last season and both wellbeing and stamina need taking on trust.

Form: 72/

(1)

Candleford²⁹

Age: 3| Weight: 9-1| J: Cieren Fallon| T: W J Haggas

11/4

Bred to be useful and should come on for last month's debut at Newbury (1¼m, good to soft) where he was too green to do himself justice. High on the shortlist.

Form: 5

(4)

Khaiz⁷⁷

Age: 3| Weight: 9-1| J: James Doyle| T: C Appleby

6/4

Striking pedigree and fetched 700,000 gns as a foal. Clearly in need of the experience on debut at Doncaster (10.2f, good) in March, but shaped well nonetheless and he's open to plenty of improvement.

Form: 6

(8)

Liberty Warrior²²

Age: 3| Weight: 9-1| J: Liam Keniry| T: D & C Kubler

33/1

Failed to land a blow starting out in a 10.2f Bath maiden (soft) last month, but that experience won't be wasted on him and likely to leave that form well behind in time.

Form: 6

(3)

Moraweth⁵⁵

Age: 3| Weight: 9-1| J: Dane O'Neill| T: C Hills

20/1

Some positives to glean from his sole 2-y-o start and Newbury reappearance in April, but he arguably lacks the raw potential of several of these

Form: 5-4

(6)

Poet Of Life

Age: 3| Weight: 9-1| J: M Harley| T: J & T Gosden

4/1

Frankel colt. Closely related to US winner up to 8.5f Kuramata. Very much a likely-looking type for top yard and it'll be interesting to see what the market has to say.

Form:

(2)

Betty Crean L A³⁰

Age: 3| Weight: 8-10| J: R L Moore| T: D Menuisier| BF

11/2

Encouraging fourth of 9 in maiden at Newbury (10f, good) on debut in April. Perhaps conditions were too testing for her at Salisbury since and worth a second look with Ryan Moore in the hot-seat.

Form: 43

(7)

Hang Up^h1

Age: 3| Weight: 8-10| J: David Probert| T: J R Fanshawe

25/1

Lope De Vega filly. Dam 10.3f-1½m winner who stayed 1¾m. Slightly disconcerting that she's equipped with a hood for this debut.

Form:

Forecasts

Khaiz (6/4), Candleford (11/4), Poet Of Life (4/1), Betty Crean L A (11/2), Moraweth (20/1), Hang Up (25/1), Liberty Warrior (33/1), Sobriquet (80/1)

It's not hard to envisage the well-bred KHAIZ leaving his Doncaster debut form well behind here and he gets the nod ahead of the similarly promising Candleford. Newcomer Poet of Life is not short of appeal on paper and needs close attention in the betting, while Betty Crean L A may yet build on her initial promise back on a sound surface.
