Dual winner last term and not discounted in the face of an inadequate test at Newcastle 8 months ago. Back up in trip with blinkers applied, so not ruled out on reappearance.

Thriving of late and completed a double in ready fashion at Chelmsford last time. No reason to think he isn't as effective on turf, but this track might not suit him ideally.

Useful at best in this sphere but neither effort this year inspires much confidence and this isn't really his track.

Useful handicapper in 2018, scoring 3 times, but very difficult to predict how much ability remains on the back of a huge absence.

Scored at Haydock last June and has run creditably since, including when second of 5 at Salisbury a month ago. Capable of getting back to winning ways.

Scored twice last year, including at this track on penultimate outing of the campaign. Too free when last seen at Leicester 7 months ago and returns with a career-best required.

Fairly useful for David Simcock and, despite a disappointing hurdling campaign for Dan Skelton, returned with a good second on first outing for current yard at this course 22 days ago. Considered.

Consistent sort who was runner-up at Kempton when last seen in December. Vulnerable to better treated rivals and may need this first run back.

Ended a long losing sequence at Ayr in September. Remains well treated on old form and shaped as if he'd strip fitter for his reappearance at Ripon, so he's a big player.

Forecasts

Blow Your Horn (13/8), Dreamweaver (7/2), Carlos Felix (13/2), Buriram (7/1), Eastern Sheriff (10/1), Uber Cool (14/1), Nakeeta (16/1), Hasanabad (20/1), Dance To Paris (40/1)

Verdict

DREAMWEAVER has plenty of solid form from last year and was only narrowly denied by a more prominently-ridden rival at Salisbury on reappearance, so he's fancied to get back to winning ways in a tightly-knit affair. Hat-trick seeking Blow Your Horn is an obvious danger, while the veteran Nakeeta deserves a mention.
