Won twice last season and added to his tally on the AW in January. However, ran no sort of a race back on turf at (7f, good) last month and questions to answer now.

Improved following a wind op last term, off the mark at Chelmsford (1m) in September. Gelded ahead of reappearance sixth at Kempton and should have a part to play here with that run under his belt.

Off the mark at Chelmsford final start for Sir Michael Stoute last autumn and knocking on the door for new stable, creditable fifth of 15 in Thirsk Hunt Cup (1m, good) recently. Couldn't rule out.

Very useful at his best, but hasn't got his head in front for a while and below par in 4 starts since the turn of the year, including when equipped with first-time blinkers at Doncaster last time.

C&D nursery winner and far from disgraced when fifth of 10 on the July course here on final start of truncated 2020 campaign. Resumes on a 2 lb lower mark and he needs a second look.

Much-improved when bagging back-to-back handicaps at Doncaster and here (July course) last summer. Shaped well when third to Ahdab on return at Yarmouth and he should have a part to play.

Showed ability in 3 starts for John Gosden and improved when making a winning return/handicap bow for new yard at Bath (1m, good to firm). Third off this mark over same C&D since and merits respect.

Forecasts

Mumtaaz (3/1), Jean Baptiste (10/3), Lord Neidin (5/1), Turntable (11/2), Fox Power (11/2), Ahdab (6/1), Dogged (7/1), Streak Lightning (25/1)

Verdict

It may be worth chancing the fitness of DOGGED, who has the distinction of a C&D victory to his name and wasn't beaten far in a stronger handicap than this when last seen 10 months ago. Turntable is taken to reverse recent Yarmouth placings with Ahdab and emerge as the main danger, though Lord Neidin and Mumtaaz are others to consider in a tricky-looking contest.
