Progressive middle-distance stayer who took form to another level when easy winner of the Long Distance Cup at Ascot final 4-y-o start. Has a 5 lb penalty for that but more rain would increase chance.
Missed 2019 but thrived last season, winning Group 3s at York and Newbury. Has a 3 lb penalty here but should come on for his return and this track should suit his style of running.
High-class performer (dual Group 1 winner in 2019) at best but just the one creditable effort last season (third in Eclipse). However, taking a big drop in class here. Up in trip.
Winless last term but series of solid efforts in ultra-competitive 3-y-o handicaps. Not disgraced in face of a stiff task at Newbury on return but up against it again. Cheekpieces re-fitted.
Smart performer for Sir Michael Stoute and won a listed event here in 2019. However, failed to win last season and just fairly-useful form over hurdles for this yard.
Most progressive last season but failed to give his running when upped to this level at the Curragh. Respectable third in listed event at Naas on return and this trip is worth exploring.
Smart front-running stayer but emphasis on speed at this distance is unlikely to play to his strengths and easy ground a negative, too.

Forecasts
Japan (13/8), Trueshan (9/4), Morando (5/1), Sonnyboyliston (9/1), Kipps (16/1), Euchen Glen (25/1), Withhold (25/1), Sextant (28/1)
MORANDO ran well in defeat last season and looks set for a big run having won this in testing ground on his reappearance in 2019. The race clearly revolves around Japan, who could potentially smash these if back to his best, but he could be worth taking on under these conditions first-time out. Further rain would make the progressive Trueshan a big threat despite a 5 lb penalty.
