Course winner but he's no more than a useful handicapper nowadays, so he has plenty to find in this grade.

Has led all before him in the British staying division since 2018 but he ended last term with rare poor run in Long Distance Cup over C&D. Sort to bounce back, and remains very much the one to beat.

Improving colt who posted a very useful effort on his final start to complete a quick hat-trick in 2m2f Pontefract conditions event. Has more to offer, but this represents a much tougher assignment.

Verdict

STRADIVARIUS is the undoubted star of the British staying division and he goes very well fresh too so this outstanding 7-y-o is hard to look beyond on his return in a season where he bids to win the Ascot Gold Cup for a fourth time. Nayef Road took this event 12 months ago and appeals as the one to chase him home with improving duo Ocean Wind and Stag Horn set to fight it out for minor honours.

  1. STRADIVARIUS (IRE)
  2. NAYEF ROAD (IRE)
  3. OCEAN WIND
