Promising sort. Won 13-runner minor event (5/4) at Kempton (7f) on debut in November, cosily. Clearly a nice prospect and very much the one to beat here.

Karakontie filly. Dam unraced out of smart winner up to 9.5f (2-y-o 1m winner) Aruna. Top yard also fields Sabousi and it'll be interesting to see how this filly measures up in the betting.

Forecasts

Royal Fleet (8/15), Ubahha (13/2), Sabousi (8/1), Sunrise Valley (9/1), Chalk Stream (11/1), Lankaran (16/1), Liger King (40/1), Al Thumama Lord (80/1), Merci Percy (150/1), Your Love Is King (200/1), Cabrini (250/1)

Verdict

While several of these are armed with potential, ROYAL FLEET's claims are the most compelling on the back of his cosy debut success at Kempton towards the end of last year. Chalk Stream should be winning races before long, but he's likely to come into his own over 1¼m+ and bigger threats may be posed by Liger King and Sabousi. Of the newcomers, Ubahha is the most appealing on paper.

  1. ROYAL FLEET
  2. LIGER KING (IRE)
  3. SABOUSI (IRE)
