Useful and largely consistent chaser who jumped boldly when making a winning hunter debut at Wincanton 13 months ago. Not seen since, but obvious claims if he's as good as ever.

Fairly useful operator who was left with plenty to do when a bit disappointing at this course last time. Type to bounce back quickly with cheekpieces fitted.

Fair chaser who has showed he retains plenty of enthusiasm in a couple of hunters since joining this yard, runner-up from the front over 6 days ago. This requires a lot more, though.

Modest chaser who has won a few times in points but signed off for Alastair Ralph with a poor display in a handicap chase at Taunton 125 days ago. Others are more appealing.

Fairly useful hurdler for Tim Vaughan and a winning pointer last year. Showed there's plenty of life in him when fourth at this course on hunter debut, but will need to build on that.

Very smart chaser on his day but out of sorts this season (including in jumpers bumper last time). Should find this first go in hunters much less taxing, so warrants plenty of respect.

Fair chaser. First run since leaving Dan Skelton when fourth of 9 in hunter chase at this C&D 6 days ago. Needs to step up markedly on that.

Forecasts

San Benedeto (6/5), Master Dancer (4/1), Chef D'Equipe (9/2), Dieu Vivant (6/1), Zamparelli (10/1), Bletchley Castle (12/1), Billy Hicks (50/1), Drumhart (250/1)

Verdict

The likeable CHEF D'EQUIPE should be ready to go despite a year on the sidelines and is marginally preferred to the classy San Benedeto, who has more than enough ability to overcome the selection but has something to prove following a disappointing season to date. Master Dancer is the pick of the remainder.

  1. CHEF D'EQUIPE (FR)
  2. SAN BENEDETO (FR)
  3. MASTER DANCER
