Four-time winner over fences for Dan Skelton, the latest of them in April 2019. Has tasted success in points more recently but was pulled up in that code when last seen in December. Had a wind op.

Fair chaser at best. Failed to complete both outings this season in regulation handicaps for David Loughane but back in a hunter and showed he retains plenty of enthusiasm 3 weeks ago.

Good record at Cheltenham, winning 2m open hunter event for a third time there in 2019. Tailed off at this venue the following February and this 15--y-o is entitled to need this.

Useful at his best under Rules but unplaced in a point in December and never really looked like justifying support on recent hunter debut at Wincanton. Usual tongue tie back on.

Useful chaser at his peak, albeit very hit and miss and rarely finds for pressure. Off the track over 2 years, but leading connections persevere.

Fair performer in this sphere in 2018/19 and all the better for last month's reappearance when second in a 23.8f hunter here 3 weeks ago. That puts him in the mix.

Has looked modest throughout his career but made a reasonable start for new yard in hunters when fifth at Leicester a fortnight ago (2m).

Useful hurdler at his best but became temperamental and well beaten all 3 starts upon joining Charlie Longsdon last winter. Well held completed start in hunters but drop in trip will help.

From the family of National Hunt Chase winner Loving Around. Took a long time to get off the mark between the flags but did win 13-runner amateurs bumper in 2019. Pulled up both points starts since.

Forecasts

Copain De Classe (6/5), Garde Ville (10/3), Capitaine (8/1), Bletchley Castle (9/1), Jenkins (9/1), Guttural (16/1), Zamparelli (20/1), Love Around (50/1), Sam Cavallaro (66/1)

Verdict

GARDE VILLE lacks the class of Capitane and Copain de Classe, but a runner-up effort in this sphere here 3 weeks ago confirms his well-being and as a result he looks the safest recommendation.

  1. GARDE VILLE (FR)
  2. CAPITAINE (FR)
  3. COPAIN DE CLASSE (FR)
