Nightboattoclyro³¹

Age: 7| Weight: 11-7| J: Jack Tudor⁽³⁾| T: S Drinkwater| OR: 131

15/8

Real improver for new yard during the winter, completing the hat-trick at Wetherby. Strong traveller and limit may not yet have been reached, so he demands respect.

Form: 136-111

Breffniboy³⁴

Age: 7| Weight: 11-6| J: K Brogan⁽⁵⁾| T: J Farrelly| OR: 130| C

7/1

Much-improved handicapper, gaining a fifth win of the campaign (2m) in December. Much better than the result in the mud at Exeter following a break last month and now upped markedly in distance.

Form: 111124

Didtheyleaveuoutto²⁴

Age: 8| Weight: 11-6| J: James Davies| T: N J Gifford| OR: 130

15/2

Smart bumper performer back in 2017/18. Failed to kick on from a good start over hurdles and though fit from a couple of races on the AW, he now has obstacles to contend with again.

Form: 00FF-F2

Lord Accord^t²⁶

Age: 6| Weight: 11-4| J: Brendan Powell| T: N P Mulholland| OR: 128

9/1

Bumper winner who ran out a comfortable winner on hurdles debut over 19f at Fontwell in October. Well held completed start since and opening mark asks for more.

Form: 3-11U7

Vive Le Roi²⁷

Age: 10| Weight: 11-4| J: Harry Bannister| T: A W Carroll| OR: 128

13/2

Three-time winner in 2018 and found only one too good in the Lanzarote here in January 2020. Has been shaping up quite well this term and is back on a tempting mark.

Form: 25-3556

Vorashann¹⁶²

Age: 5| Weight: 11-3| J: Joshua Moore| T: G & J Moore| OR: 127| BF

14/1

Fairly useful on Flat in France and has improved in this sphere following a wind operation, running out a wide-margin winner at Fontwell in October (17.7f). Race a week later must have come too soon.

Form: 476-210

Switch Hitter⁸⁴

Age: 6| Weight: 11-3| J: Bryony Le Clerc| T: P F Nicholls| OR: 127| CD

11/2

Point winner who struck at second time of asking over hurdles when seeing off a subsequent winner in a C&D novice in November. Well held in handicap back here over Christmas but retains potential.

Form: 1/5-218

Non-Runners

Son Of Camas²¹

Weight: 11-7| Age: 6

T: N J Henderson J: N de Boinville

Debestyman¹²⁶

Weight: 11-0| Age: 8

T: Miss S Smith J: Non Runner

Forecasts

Nightboattoclyro (15/8), Switch Hitter (11/2), Vive Le Roi (13/2), Breffniboy (7/1), Diese Des Bieffes (7/1), Debestyman (7/1), Son Of Camas (7/1), Didtheyleaveuoutto (15/2), Lord Accord (9/1), Vorashann (14/1)

VIVE LE ROI is in better heart than this season's form figures suggest, and given he was runner-up in the 2020 Lanzarote from 9 lb higher, he makes plenty of appeal from a handicapping perspective. Nightboattoclyro arrives in pursuit of a 4-timer so it would be madness to omit him from calculations.
