Agent Saonois¹⁵¹

Age: 5| Weight: 11-2| J: Harry Reed| T: N P MulhollandWS

11/1

Bred to have some speed but didn't offer a great deal in that respect at Ffos Las 151 days ago. Could have learned from the experience, but a marked step forward is required.

Form: 7

Crawford^t³⁷

Age: 5| Weight: 11-2| J: J E Moore| T: M Bradstock

28/1

Bred to need more time/distance and was only seventh in a bumper at Kempton on debut. Hard to make a case for.

Form: 7

Gaolbreaker^t⁶⁹

Age: 5| Weight: 11-2| J: Tom Midgley⁽⁷⁾| T: M & D Easterby

80/1

Limited promise in two outings to date, looking in need of further, so others are more appealing.

Form: 05

Idle Speculation

Age: 5| Weight: 11-2| J: Ben Godfrey⁽⁵⁾| T: H D Daly

17/2

Gentlewave gelding. Dam (b85) ran once in bumper. Others make more appeal.

Form:

Imperial Hope⁹⁵

Age: 5| Weight: 11-2| J: Brendan Powell| T: O Sherwood

3/1

£60,000 4-y-o, Imperial Monarch gelding. Dam (h73), ran twice over hurdles. First of only 2 finishers sole start in Irish points (Dec 13). Interesting Rules newcomer.

Form: 1

King Ferdinand¹²⁹

Age: 5| Weight: 11-2| J: Stan Sheppard| T: T Lacey

11/4

Has an appealing pedigree and shaped with encouragement when sixth in a race at Chepstow that's working out well. Off 129 days since, but yard should have him tuned up.

Form: 6

Kasaba Bay^t1

Age: 4| Weight: 10-9| J: Lorcan Murtagh⁽³⁾| T: B I Case

11/1

£52,000 3-y-o, Universal gelding. Half-brother to bumper winner Emmarelli. Dam (c145/h130) 2½m-27f hurdle/chase winner. Wears tongue strap. Makes some appeal on paper.

Form:

Presenting Pete³⁵

Age: 4| Weight: 10-9| J: Max Browne⁽¹⁰⁾| T: A King

4/1

Presenting gelding out of a bumper winner and showed plenty when runner-up at Kempton a month ago. May well progress from that, so he's a definite player.

Form: 2

Toutatis³⁵

Age: 4| Weight: 10-9| J: B S Hughes| T: F O'Brien

13/2

Half-brother to 3 winners on Flat, including 6.5f-1m US winner Honor The Fleet. Dam 5f-6f US winner. Suited by emphasis on speed when third in an AW bumper a month ago.

Form: 3

Non-Runners

Fringill Dike

Weight: 10-9| Age: 4

T: Jedd O'Keeffe J: J Garritty

Forecasts

King Ferdinand (11/4), Imperial Hope (3/1), Presenting Pete (4/1), Toutatis (13/2), Fringill Dike (8/1), Idle Speculation (17/2), Agent Saonois (11/1), Kasaba Bay (11/1), Crawford (28/1), Gaolbreaker (80/1)

IMPERIAL HOPE cost £60,000 on the back of a point success and has been found a reasonable opening switched to Rules, so a chance is taken on him to maintain his unbeaten record at the likely expense of King Ferdinand, who shaped well in a stronger race on debut. Presenting Pete is another one to consider.
