Modest in bumpers and some promise when down the field on hurdling debut. Went as if amiss last time but retains some potential.

Is perhaps not the easiest to train but showed improved form when fourth of 20 in maiden hurdle at Cork (16f, heavy, 13/2) in December, not knocked about. Open to further progress.

Attracted support though dropped away quickly in maiden bumper at Galway in October. Related to plenty of winners and may be seen in a better light now hurdling.

Forecasts

Elite Charboniere (4/6), Don Diablo (7/4), Blackstair Rocco (4/1), Cotteemcavennigoal (9/2), Don Magnifica (11/1), The Virginian (14/1), Edison Kent (22/1), Given Wings (33/1), Maybenextyear (33/1), Glentruan (33/1), Skol (40/1), Cnogba (80/1), Drummer (100/1), Any Day Now (250/1), William Wolf (300/1), No Logic (300/1), Queen Jenny (300/1)

Verdict

DON DIABLO and Elite Charboniere stand out. Don Diablo bettered his fair bumper form at the first attempt over hurdles when runner-up at Naas last month and, with the performance backed up by the clock, he edges the vote. Elite Charboniere returned with a fine run in a Cork race that has proven to be really good form and won't be far away. Point recruit Blackstair Rocco is worth a market check.
