3/1

Career best when winning 9-runner handicap at Chelmsford City (5f, 18/1) 8 days ago by 1¼ lengths from the reopposing Mehmo, keeping on well. Carries penalty. Not taken lightly.

9/1

5/2 and visored for 1st time, first run since leaving Jane Chapple-Hyam when 4¼ lengths fifth of 9 to Swooper in handicap at Chelmsford City (5f) 8 days ago. Hard to see him turning the tables here.

2/1

5/2, good 1¼ lengths second of 9 to Swooper in handicap at Chelmsford City (5f) 8 days ago, no match for winner and again looking tricky under pressure. Should be in the mix again.

11/2

Winner at Newcastle in November. Visored for 1st time, returned to form when second of 7 in claimer (4/1) at Wolverhampton (6.1f) 25 days ago. Solid each-way claims under competent 5-lb claimer.

Form: 1460-72

18/1

Took a step back in the right direction when 4 lengths third of 9 to Swooper in handicap at Chelmsford City (5f, 50/1) 8 days ago, running on late. Probably wants a return to 6f so others preferred.

Forecasts

Mehmo (2/1), Swooper (3/1), Hotalena (11/2), Expert Opinion (13/2), Marta Boy (9/1), Bayamon Belle (9/1), Apache Mist (18/1), Friday (20/1)

There seemed to be no fluke about the way SWOOPER got the job done at Chelmsford 8 days ago, taking advantage of a drop in grade and providing his young rider with a second career victory. He retains the partnership and is taken to follow up under a penalty. Mehmo wasn't beaten far behind the selection that day and he may have to settle for silver again, ahead of Hotalena.
