Darkest Day¹⁴

Age: 5| Weight: 11-12| J: J E Moore| T: G & J Moore| OR: 100

3/1

Maiden who posted his best effort to date when third over 20.5f here in February. No impact both starts this season, but handicapper has quickly relented and he's not discounted.

Form: 3573-6P

Sing Out Loud⁵⁰

Age: 5| Weight: 11-12| J: Harry Kimber⁽⁷⁾| T: M Madgwick| OR: 100

20/1

Fair on Flat (stays 1¼m), but will need to leave efforts in novice hurdles well behind if he's to play a leading role on handicap debut in this sphere.

Form: 7-54

Sixties Secret⁴²

Age: 5| Weight: 11-7| J: N F Houlihan⁽⁷⁾| T: Miss S West| OR: 95| BF| CD

9/2

Both wins gained here, the latest over 20.5f on seasonal reappearance in September. She's rather in-and-out, though, and wasn't on a going day back here last month.

Form: 330-146

Penny Poet^p¹⁵⁸

Age: 7| Weight: 11-7| J: Tom Cannon| T: N P Mulholland| OR: 95

14/1

Failed to build on encouraging hurdles debut during 2018/19 campaign and missed whole of last season. However, she's in good hands and is one to note in the betting on handicap debut in this sphere.

Form: 279/

Legal Ok¹³

Age: 8| Weight: 11-3| J: Mr P York⁽³⁾| T: P York| OR: 91| BF

3/1

Point winner who hit the crossbar over this C&D on final 2 starts of last season. Stratford reappearance effort was fair and, though below par over fences last time, he's one to consider.

Form: 4422-45

Amlovi²⁸⁸

Age: 7| Weight: 10-12| J: Benjamin Poste| T: A Wintle| OR: 86| CD

18/1

Bounced back to land a very weak C&D handicap in February. However, poor effort at Sedgefield the following month and probably best watched on this seasonal reappearance.

Form: P02714-

Air Hair Lair⁵⁶

Age: 4| Weight: 10-11| J: Joshua Moore| T: Miss S West| OR: 85

15/2

Modest maiden on the Flat and doesn't look much better in this sphere, failing to improve for the switch to a handicap on C&D reappearance in October.

Form: 778-8

Sadma¹⁹

Age: 11| Weight: 10-8| J: Dave Crosse| T: N Lampard| OR: 82| D

18/1

Twice placed over this C&D last season following success at Hereford. Well held both starts this time round, though (over fences latest), and needs to bounce back.

Form: 1233-97

Jewelinthename^t²⁰

Age: 5| Weight: 10-8| J: C Brassil⁽⁵⁾| T: N P Mulholland| OR: 82

28/1

Showed nothing in 3 starts last term and similar story in a couple of runs this season, including on recent handicap bow at Southwell. Yard saddles a more appealing candidate in Penny Poet.

Form: F08-07

O'Rahilly^p,t³⁴

Age: 8| Weight: 10-6| J: Page Fuller| T: Miss Z C Davison| OR: 80

10/1

Modest maiden hurdler/chaser on balance, but definite each-way chance if reproducing form of effort over C&D in March when third of 9 off a 3 lb higher mark.

Form: 436P3-7

Forecasts

Legal Ok (3/1), Darkest Day (3/1), Gold Clermont (9/2), Sixties Secret (9/2), Thinque Tank (7/1), Air Hair Lair (15/2), O'Rahilly (10/1), Penny Poet (14/1), Amlovi (18/1), Sadma (18/1), Sing Out Loud (20/1), Mr Jack (20/1), Joint Account (25/1), Jewelinthename (28/1), Out By Six (33/1)

This looks wide-open and it may be worth chancing DARKEST DAY, who hasn't cut much ice in a couple of runs this season but it's still early days and he's now 10 lb lower than when finishing third over C&D in February. Legal Ok has found just one too good on both previous visits here and he merits respect, but Penny Poet makes her handicap bow in this sphere off a feasible mark and is feared most.
