Showed fairly useful form over hurdles in 2017/18. Has clearly not been the easiest to train since, and had wind op before being brought down early on return here 14 days ago. Respected up in trip.

9/1, hinted at promise when seventh of 12 in novice hurdle at Chepstow (19.4f, good to soft) on NH debut 45 days ago. Up in trip and may well do better but yard also have A Time To Shine in here.

Winning pointer who posted much improved effort over hurdles on return when (11/1) second of 17 in 21f handicap at Cheltenham 28 days ago. Still low mileage and sets a good standard here.

Forecasts

Silent Assistant (8/13), A Time To Shine (10/3), Gosheven (4/1), Kaphumor (18/1), Quick Getaway (200/1), Ocean Point (250/1)

Verdict

SILENT ASSISTANT returned an improved model when runner-up in a big-field Cheltenham handicap last month so is the one to beat here back in maiden company. A Time To Shine should build on his debut third at Southwell so rates next best ahead of Gosheven who is likely to find the step up in trip to his benefit.

  1. SILENT ASSISTANT (IRE)
  2. A TIME TO SHINE (IRE)
  3. GOSHEVEN (IRE)
