9/2
Consistent staying handicap hurdler who looked rusty after 8 months off for chasing bow when sixth of 10 in 20f Aintree handicap. This return to further will suit so considered for yard among winners.

16/5
Fairly useful hurdler who made promising start over fences when fourth in 21f Stratford novice on return, fading late as lack of run told. Form has been franked so not taken lightly back up in trip.

7/1
Useful staying hurdler at his best. 50/1, much better effort over fences this term when fourth of 10 in 20f Aintree handicap 28 days ago. This stiffer test of stamina will suit so he's shortlisted.

Lightly-raced point winner who was promising runner-up in 3m Huntingdown maiden on chasing bow last winter. Only fair fourth after wind op in Hereford novice on return though so bit to prove here.

Dual winning 3m hurdler last season but off track 9 months for chasing debut now. Yard in great nick but he still needs to hit the ground running.

Point/hurdle winner for Willie Mullins but well held both completed start over fences last season and fared little better on debut for new yard when pulled up in Uttoxeter handicap. Hard to warm to.

Age: 6|  Weight: 10-10| J: S Bowen| T: H Fry| OR:  122| BF| D
9/4
Winning pointer who has shown promise when twice third over hurdles, lacking pace to challenge over 20f at Ffos Las on his return. Longer trip will really suit so no forlorn hope now going chasing.

Forecasts

Ask Me Early (9/4), St Barts (9/4), Thomas Macdonagh (16/5), Burrows Park (9/2), Good And Hardy (6/1), Lord Napier (7/1), Lies About Milan (15/2), Jammy George (10/1), Small Farm (66/1)

Verdict

A few of these young chasers have potential but ST BARTS is very hard to side against after shaping really well when runner-up on his chasing bow at Exeter and he's weighted to go in raised just 3 lb. Thomas Macdonagh made a pleasing start over fences when not fully wound up at Stratford on his return so is feared most, although a big step forward from Burrows Park is not ruled out either.

  1. ST BARTS (IRE)
  2. THOMAS MACDONAGH
  3. BURROWS PARK (FR)
