Brave Mansonnien gelding. Dam raced once over hurdles in France, half-sister to fairly useful hurdler (stayed 21f) Quartano. Newcomer from good yard who would enter reckoning if market vibes strong.

Bright start for new yard when second over 2m at Hereford but failed to repeat that (did too much too soon) when fading into fourth at Taunton since. Claims on Hereford run with hood added now.

Fair form in hurdles/chase in France and joined a stable which does so well with new recruits. Respected if the betting speaks for him.

£65,000 purchase after point win in January. Only a well-held third in Ayr bumper since but the fact he went off 11/8 suggests he's well regarded by top yard. Tongue tie added now hurdling.

Runner-up on point debut in December and still in with every chance when running out at the last the following month. 12/1, well held on recent Lingfield hurdle debut, though.

Has offered something to work on in maiden hurdles at Lingfield and Chepstow in recent weeks but perhaps one who won't really come into his own until handicapping.

Multiple point winner in ordinary company but well held on his completed start in novice hurdles earlier in the year.

Camelot gelding. Half-brother to 3 winners on Flat, including 7f-9f winner Pilot. Dam 8.3f winner. Betting should guide on debut.

Runner-up in a Uttoxeter bumper for Dai Burchell in August but remote sixth on hurdle debut there since. Early days but will need to leave that run well behind.

Fair dual Flat winner for Mick Appleby earlier in year but no promise in 2 hurdle runs for new yard this autumn. First-time visor needs to make a big difference.

Fair maiden who bounced back from a poor run on reappearance when 2 lengths second over 2m at Kempton 15 days ago. Should be thereabouts but vulnerable to anything with potential.

Runner-up a couple of times in bumpers and left previous hurdles efforts well behind when occupying same spot at Fakenham in January. No show on his recent Market Rasen reappearance, though.

Useful on Flat for John Gosden in 2018. Off 2 years, only well-held eighth in Ludlow maiden hurdle on belated return for new yard but wouldn't be a shock if he proved a different proposition now.

Forecasts

Tremwedge (6/4), Whitlock (7/2), Caddyhill (5/1), Freezing Point (10/1), Brave Gozzy (12/1), First Soldier (14/1), Pounding Poet (20/1), Get Your Own (22/1), Guetapan Collonges (22/1), Volunteer (40/1), Monte Alban (100/1), Picturesque View (200/1), Tigray (200/1)

Verdict

In a trappy-looking maiden hurdle the vote goes to FREEZING POINT who could only manage third in a bumper last month but the fact he went off a short-priced favourite suggests he'd been showing Dan Skelton the right signs and he could easily prove a different proposition now jumping. Tremwedge and Caddyhill have the form to get involved, while Whitlock could leave his hurdle debut run behind.
