Fontwell novice for Tom Lacey in September and bounced straight back from a poor run when making a successful start for new yard in Stratford seller 14 days ago. Mark looks workable back in handicap.

Lightly-raced hurdler who didn't seriously threaten in handicaps last year but his mark has edged down and he's worth a market check returning from 8 months off.

Fair 2m bumper winner. Best effort over hurdles when second of 9 in 21 Wetherby handicap on reappearance. Player if able to build on that for a yard going well.

Generally progressive over hurdles. No impression switched to chasing in a handicap at Hexham on reappearance in October but he's entitled to strip fitter for the run. Tongue tie tried.

Fair maiden on Flat. Promising second in Plumpton novice hurdle a year ago but well beaten in 2 handicaps later that season. Returns with a tongue tie on for the first time. Market should guide.

Both his wins have come over 2m at Kelso. Another solid effort over that C&D when second of reappearance last month. Needs to show he can do it away from there now.

Useful Flat winner for Aidan O'Brien. Odd bit of promise in juvenile/maiden hurdles for this yard and is a possible improver in handicaps. Cheekpieces refitted. Market support significant.

Cashed in on falling mark at Market Rasen in September. Just as good when third over this C&D next time and can play a part again if none the worse for a fall back at Market Rasen last time.

Market Rasen bumper winner on debut but that was back in 2016 and he hasn't done much in a light career since, including tailed off on recent yard debut after absence.

Forecasts

Floating Rock (9/4), Sidi Ismael (10/3), Kangaroo Valley (6/1), Temple Man (13/2), Sweet Vinetta (13/2), Oksana (17/2), Iolani (10/1), Tabou Beach Boy (22/1), Rockliffe (33/1), Roycano (33/1), Janeymac (40/1), Fort Denison (50/1), Infinite Sun (150/1)

Verdict

A chance is taken on KANGAROO VALLEY who goes handicapping for the first time over hurdles off what could be a lenient mark based on his Flat ability. The cheekpieces he wore when landing his sole Flat success go on for the first time over hurdles and a market move for him would certainly look significant. Floating Rock, Oksana and Sidi Ismael are others to consider in this finale.

  1. KANGAROO VALLEY (USA)
  2. FLOATING ROCK (GER)
  3. OKSANA
