Marked progress in each of 3 runs for Jamie Osborne and carried on that theme when landing York nursery starting out for Nigel Tinkler. Matched that effort when second last time so he's a big player.

Sandown 5f novice winner before improved second next time. Wasn't seen to best effect (unable to get to front) on handicap bow at Chester 6 weeks ago so well worth another chance from the same mark.

Novice/nursery winner over this trip at Chester in September but was out of her depth in listed company at York last month. Up 4 lb and certainly not discounted.

Winner at Redcar in June. Shaped encouragingly when eighth in valuable event at Newmarket (6f, heavy) last month but failed to build on that down in class a fortnight later. Makes handicap bow.

Off the mark at third attempt in an 8-runner minor event at Ayr (6f, heavy) last month but as expected, struggled upped in grade here a fortnight ago. Makes handicap bow on first start for new yard.

Thrice-raced maiden who's best effort came on penultimate start when runner-up at Catterick. Step back up in trip should suit for his handicap debut.

Thrice-raced maiden who match previous form let alone improve on handicap/all-weather debut at Newcastle (6f) 25 days ago. Must improve to feature but that's a possibility.

Forecasts

Imperium Blue (9/4), Gaelic Secret (9/2), Sir Benedict (6/1), Glinbury (6/1), Harmony Lil (6/1), Intrusive (9/1), Isle Of Lismore (11/1)

Verdict

Impossible to rule out any of these, but preference is for IMPERIUM BLUE, who made a winning start for Nigel Tinkler and matched that effort when runner-up at Nottingham 10 days ago. He's clearly in fine heart, and can take his tally to 3 wins from 6 runs. Intrusive heads up the dangers on his handicap/yard debut, ahead of Glinbury, who should appreciate this step back up in trip.

  1. IMPERIUM BLUE
  2. INTRUSIVE
  3. GLINBURY (IRE)
