Useful form when winning 3 times in novice campaign. Sound return to action when 8 lengths second at Kelso a year ago but let down by jumping in Grade 3 handicap at Cheltenham in December. Off since.

Useful hurdler who has proved just as good over fences, off the mark in this sphere in maiden at Ffos Las when in January. Off 8 months. Up in trip. Has bled.

Enjoying a real Indian summer after a lengthy career and recorded his third win from his last 5 starts at Uttoxeter 2 months ago. Yet to win off a mark this high but another bold show likely.

Bounced back to capitalise on a lenient mark over fences at Sedgefield in March and should be fitter for last month's return over hurdles. Completion rate not great, however (prone to mistakes).

Better than ever last season, landing handicaps at Cheltenham and Uttoxeter under this rider. Struggled in Midlands National at Uttoxeter final start but type to bounce back.

Off the mark for current stable in convincing fashion at Stratford in July and good placed efforts last 2 starts. Longer trip may suit. Headgear applied.

Usually goes well in long-distance chases and did that for a long way at Musselburgh in February, a pair of mid-race errors not aiding his cause. Looked rusty after 5 months off at Uttoxeter in July.

Off the mark for this yard over fences at Musselburgh (26.6f) in February. Better for return when a good second at Perth, albeit no match for winner. This tougher.

Fairly useful at best for Gordon Elliott but could hardly have shown any less for new connections after 10 months off at Bangor.

Has long looked like he'd excel in staying chases and there was plenty to like about his first go over fences at Catterick (19.2f). Landed the odds at Kelso since and remains with potential.

Largely in fine form around 3m last winter, scoring over hurdles/fences at Musselburgh. All the better for return when narrow winner over hurdles 6 weeks ago but opposable from out of weights here.

Verdict

DANDY DAN was let down by his jumping in a Grade 3 handicap at Cheltenham when last seen in December but he was promising prior to that and is taken to get back on track returned to calmer waters. Duc de Grissay remains totally unexposed after winning his second chase start at Kelso in March and should be suited by long distances, so rates the main threat ahead of the in-form Doing Fine.
