Lightly-raced colt. Career best when winning 13-runner nursery at Wolverhampton (8.6f, 10/3) 13 days ago, driven out. May well do better still but this looks tough under a penalty.

Promising second of 10 in novice at Goodwood (7f, good) on debut last month. Had excuses next time when second favourite for a Newcastle novice event. Remains likely to improve and leading claims.

Forecasts

Spy Legend (5/2), Conquering Eagle (16/5), Ghumama (5/1), Regal Vega (11/2), Kings Prince (13/2), Ravenscraig Castle (15/2), Headshot (33/1)

Verdict

GHUMAMA failed to confirm Goodwood debut promise at Newcastle, but she played up in the stalls that day and led into blustery conditions, so she's well worth another chance. There are a trio of interesting newcomers against her though, notably Spy Legend and Regal Vega. The selection's stablemate, Kings Prince, can't be discounted either on his debut.

  1. GHUMAMA (IRE)
  2. REGAL VEGA (IRE)
  3. SPY LEGEND
