Lightly-raced maiden. 4/1, good second of 8 in nursery at Catterick (6f, good to soft) 56 days ago. Presented with a good opportunity to go one better here.
Winner at Bath in July. Eighth of 11 in nursery at Lingfield (5f, good, 18/1) 40 days ago. Back up in trip and untested on ground slower than good.
Thrice-raced maiden. Eighth of 13 in minor event at Chelmsford City (7f, 33/1) 32 days ago. Needs a big step forward now handicapping and, in any case, Shanghai Rock is presumably the stable No 1.
Twice-raced maiden. Fifth of 9 in minor event at Kempton (6f, 9/2) 12 days ago. That represented a backward step from her debut but may have a part to play on handicap debut if coping with conditions.
Lightly-raced maiden. 7/2, below form fifth of 10 in nursery at Kempton (8f) 27 days ago. Down in trip and good each-way chance judged effort at Bath on penultimate start.
Thrice-raced maiden. Tenth of 11 in maiden (16/1) at Wolverhampton (6.1f) 21 days ago. Hood on 1st time for this handicap debut and more needed.
Thrice-raced maiden. Last of 8 in nursery at Kempton (8f, 66/1) 18 days ago. Back down in trip and showed enough on penultimate start at Salisbury to make her of interest off this reduced mark.
Thrice-raced maiden. 100/1, fourth of 9 in minor event at this C&D (good to soft) 44 days ago. May well have more to offer now making the switch to a handicap and she's worth considering.
C&D winner on soft ground in August. Below par third of 9 in nursery at Chepstow (5.1f, good to firm, 11/2) last time but likely to be involved in the finish back here under more suitable conditions.
Ninth of 14 in nursery at Chelmsford City (6f, 66/1) 11 days ago, not clear run. Best to look elsewhere.

Forecasts
Shanghai Rock (11/4), Bomb Squad (5/1), Emjaytwentythree (7/1), Adace (7/1), Cuban Fox (7/1), Bama Lama (15/2), Alone Time (9/1), Bannergirl (12/1), Ita Cabo (25/1), Friday (50/1)
SHANGHAI ROCK raised his game a notch when hitting the crossbar at Catterick in August and, if able to reproduce that level of form under these conditions, he may well be the answer. Next on the list is Bomb Squad, who clearly handles plenty of give underfoot and the ground was probably too lively for him at Chepstow last time. Bannergirl is also of interest, along with likely improver Bama Lama.
- SHANGHAI ROCK
- BOMB SQUAD (IRE)
- BANNERGIRL (IRE)
