Four-time winner in first half of 2019 and steadily worked his way back to form this campaign, making all in 6-runner handicap at Goodwood in August. 1m may well be sharp enough for him these days.

Suffered a couple of short-head reversals against progressive rivals this summer. Has continued in form since but this is his first run at 1m since juvenile days.

Progressive form when successful 3 times in 2019 for Rod Millman. Sold for 170,000 gns and offered little on August's reappearance for Stuart Williams. Since returned to former yard.

Runner-up in this race a year ago and matched that form when occupying same spot on last month's C&D reappearance. No impact in the Cambridgeshire but this clearly less demanding. Visor applied.

Good pedigree and won 6f/7f novice events last summer. Better form in defeat this season, not ideally placed when third over C&D last time (behind Tulfarris).

Confirmed Newmarket debut promise when landing an 8-runner Yarmouth novice in July despite still learning on the job. Didn't do a lot wrong when second at Newbury and he retains potential.

Forecasts

Piranesi (2/1), Tulfarris (11/4), Grove Ferry (16/5), Prejudice (5/1), Wait Forever (8/1), Badenscoth (18/1), Prince Of Harts (18/1)

Verdict

A useful minor event with PIRANESI selected to take another step forward on this, his fourth-career start. He didn't do much wrong despite failing to land the odds at Newbury when last seen, particularly as the winner followed up, and he possesses the frame to go on progressing. It hasn't yet clicked for Wait Forever in Britain but this is a slight drop in class.
