Won this contest 12 months ago but arrives below par, only fifth of 9 in handicap at Windsor (11.4f, soft) 29 days ago. Needs a couple of these to falter.
Good third in 12f Newmarket handicap only Flat run this summer but has been in winning form over hurdles since so much respcted back on the level.
3 wins from 4 runs this year, and posted career best with 4l success in handicap at Bath (11.6f, good) 13 days ago. 6 lb rise demands another step forward but she's greatly respected.
Landed back-to-back 10f handicaps in June but his run of good form ended when sixth of 8 to Tronada in handicap (8/1) at Bath (11.6f, good) 13 days ago. Needs to bounce back.
Eleven runs since last win in 2019, and below-par fifth of 8 in 10f handicap here 49 days ago. Needs to step forward.
Latest win at Sandown in July and out of her depth in September Stakes at Kempton 10 days ago. Respected back in handicap company.
Winner at Sandown in August but her good run of form ended when seventh of 8 to Tronada in handicap at Bath (11.6f) 13 days ago. Bit to prove now.
Scored over 12f at Newmarket in June and not disgraced when third of 9 in handicap (11/1) at Windsor (11.4f) 29 days ago. One for the shortlist.
Heavily backed and confirmed debut promise when narrowly landing 10f novice at Newcastle last month. Opening handicap mark is lenient and will be suited by step up in trip so has plenty in her favour.
Landed Nottingham novice last October but off track since respectable eighth in 14f handicap at Wolverhampton 7 months ago on final run for John Ryan. Not ruled out for new yard if back in good nick.
Has improved with each of her three runs, and going on well at line when second of 10 in handicap at Lingfield (12f, AW) 19 days ago. Daughter of Galileo has more to offer so well worth considering.
Forecasts
Progressive (3/1), Dusk (7/2), Oh It's Saucepot (13/2), Punting (15/2), Cubswin (15/2), Lyrical (10/1), Tronada (10/1), By My Side (14/1), Colony Queen (40/1), The Jean Genie (40/1), Lovely Lou Lou (66/1)
PROGRESSIVE lived up to her name when scoring over 10f at Newcastle last month and promises to be well suited by the step up in trip here so gets the vote. Fellow-improver Dusk will ensure Roger Varian's daughter of Nathaniel doesn't have things all her own way though, and recent hurdles winner Cubswin is worth conidering too.
