Fair winning 3m chaser and shaped as if as good as ever back over hurdles after 5 months off at Cartmel. Pair of laboured efforts back over fences last month however, so switches back over timber.

Modest hurdler who landed a race that rather fell apart at Perth in July, though ran respectably when third up 5 lb at Sedgefield a month later. Others preferred for win purposes.

Three-time winner last season but has yet to fire in six runs this term. Mark is tumbling, though, and the cheekpieces go back on in the hope of sparking some sort of revival.

Little show on the Flat before a below-par fifth after 7 months off in handicap hurdle (33/1) at Bangor (19.6f, good to soft) 48 days ago. More needed and the cheekpieces go back on.

Opened account after 21-month absence in Kelso novice handicap chase last October but hasn't gone on in subsequent runs, jumping poorly. Player if his jumping improves though after 7 months off.

Modest fourth in a bumper and best effort over hurdles was just modest form. Made little impact here after 7 months off last time which makes him hard to warm to.

Successful on Irish point debut in January but has looked one for later on when down the field in 3 outings over hurdles. Makes handicap debut upped in trip.

Poor form shown thus far, faring no better on first outing since leaving Dan Skelton after 5 months off when tailed-off at Southwell 3 weeks ago. Makes handicap debut.

Completion rate over hurdles/fences leaves something to be desired, though returned to form with reappearance under his belt when runner-up here over fences 13 days ago. Claims if building on that.

Very lightly-raced maiden hurdler. 66/1, seventh of 8 in novice at Uttoxeter (15.8f, good) 71 days ago. Up in trip for handicap bow but easy to look elsewhere.

Fair form over hurdles when second in 2m maiden at Sedgefield on final start for Tim Fitzgerald. Has offered little in all 4 starts for new yard so lots to prove here.

Forecasts

Lastofthecosmics (7/4), Diamond Rock (3/1), Bering Upsun (6/1), Fool To Cry (8/1), Magic Of Milan (8/1), Achill Road Boy (11/1), Arctic Road (12/1), Tikerty Tok (16/1), Bushypark (28/1), Hala Princess (28/1), Crow Stone (50/1), Molly Whuppie (66/1)

Verdict

BERING UPSUN's jumping raised cause for concern in his previous few starts over fences, but the switch back over timber looks sure to help and he's taken to make a winning reappearance after 7 months off the track. Arctic Road gets the vote to chase him home with the cheekpieces refitted, ahead of Diamond Rock and Achill Road Boy.

  1. BERING UPSUN
  2. ARCTIC ROAD
  3. DIAMOND ROCK
