Veteran campaigner who was an impressive winner of this race back in 2015. Still capable of very smart form, as proved when landing the Criterion Stakes at Newmarket on his reappearance. Big Player.
Had the run of things when winning Newmarket listed race and similar story when third in Queen Anne at Royal Ascot. Must cast aside a heavy defeat in the Sovereign Stakes a month ago.
Won the Newmarket Free Handicap along with the Group 2 City of York Stakes in 2019. Went off too hard when fourth of 5 in this a year ago and arrives on the back of a brace of solid efforts.
Reliable sort who produced a very smart performance under top weight when runner-up in Golden Mile handicap at Goodwood in July. Slowly-run race may have been a factor behind a poor run latest.
Successful at first attempt in Group company over C&D last September and right back to vert best when impressive winner of a Group 3 on heavy ground at Deauville a fortnight ago (6f).
Versatile mare who is effective between 6f and 1m but is at her very best over 7f. Did well to win the Oak Tree Stakes at Goodwood on her penultimate start and another sound effort at York since.
Looked an exciting prospect when winning a listed contest over C&D last season (Wichita was among those in behind) and produced a smart performance to win the Jersey Stakes. Fifth in Group 1 latest.
Improved on 2-y-o form to finish runner-up in the 2000 Guineas. Matched that form when third at Royal Ascot but disappointing in the Sussex Stakes/Prix Maurice de Gheest. Claims if bouncing back.
Forecasts
Wichita (11/4), Molatham (3/1), One Master (7/2), Limato (9/2), Urban Icon (12/1), Breathtaking Look (14/1), Shine So Bright (25/1), Marie's Diamond (50/1)
Things panned out perfectly for LIMATO when he landed the Criterion Stakes for the second year running on June's reappearance, but that performance does confirm he's still capable of very smart form despite his advancing years. A winner of this back in 2015, he looks the way to go, for all Wichita is a very dangerous opponent on his early-summer form. One Master also demands consideration.
