Left debut well behind when landing a 5f minor event at Beverley in July. Backed it up in a better race at Chester next time but was out of his depth at this course 17 days ago.
Shaped encouragingly when third on debut here but didn't seem to have derived a great deal from that when finishing last at Pontefract 23 days ago, hanging badly right on home turn.
Foaled March 22. €36,000 foal, 85,000 gns yearling, Camacho colt. Dam unraced half-sister to smart winner up to 8.6f Saltonstall out of smart 1¼m-15f winner Macleya. Makes plenty of appeal on paper.
Little impact in a pair of turf maidens, still in need of the experience when sixth at Beverley 25 days ago. Others preferred.
100/1, green and never involved on debut at Hamilton (6f) 24 days ago.
Showed a bit more than on debut when third at Windsor just under 3 weeks ago, still looking in need of the experience. He may do better yet but this looks competitive enough.
Failed to beat a rival at Doncaster on debut but seemed to show much improved form when third in a listed contest at Sandown in July. A reproducion of that effort should see him go close.
Little promise shown in maiden/minor event last month. Would need to take a huge step forward to feature.
4/1 but only ninth of 10 in novice at Thirsk (5f, good) on debut 28 days ago. In good hands and clearly thought capable of better so not discounted.
Foaled March 29. Coach House filly. Half-sister to winner up to 1m Shades of Mist. Dam 5f winner who stayed 7.5f out of winner Poppo's Song.
Was given more of a break and got back on the up in first-time cheekpieces when a very close fourth in listed contest here just over a fortnight ago, hampered inside final 1f. The one to beat.
80/1, always behind when seventh of 9 in novice at Redcar on debut 71 days ago. Lots more needed.
Attracted support and showed plenty of ability on debut when runner-up at Beverley 19 days ago, challenging over 1f out. She should improve with that under her belt.
Forecasts
Mamba Wamba (6/5), Batraan (5/1), Mcmanaman (11/2), Inveigle (6/1), Tweet Tweet (9/1), Tom's Reign Beau (14/1), Ancient Times (16/1), Tamaska (50/1), Amazing Anna (80/1), Pockley (100/1), Fossos (200/1), Havana Party (250/1), She's A Deva (300/1)
MAMBA WAMBA is a confident selection to open her account having been unlucky when a very close fourth in a listed contest here just over a fortnight ago. A reproduction of that effort will make her tough to beat back in calmer waters. McManaman is feared most having been highly tried on just his second start at Sandown in July, ahead of Batraan and Tweet Tweet.
