Failed to complete in 4 points and beat only one rival home in an 8-runner bumper at Perth 22 days ago.
€21,000 3-y-o, Califet gelding. Dam unraced, closely related to fairly useful hurdler/chaser (stayed 3¼m) Camden. Fell both starts in Irish points (latest Feb 23).
Successful on Irish point debut in January but has looked one for later on when down the field both outings over hurdles.
Modest fourth in a bumper and just modest form on his completed start over hurdles. Hard to make a case for after 7 months off.
Modest handicapper on Flat (stays 1½m) for Mick Appleby and achieved a similar level when third in a couple of novice hurdles for Alistair Ralph. Starts for another new yard in a very weak race.
Modest form in bumpers, twice in the frame, and yet to make a serious impact over hurdles. Looks more of a handicap type.
Out of a winning hurdler but hard to see him making a serious impression in this after finishing tailed off in a bumper at Bangor in July.
Fair form when placed in a couple of bumpers in early 2019 but not in the same form when twelfth at Catterick 9 months ago. Should make a jumper based on breeding, though.
Fair 12f winner on Flat for Ann Duffield but went backwards from a mildly encouraging hurdling debut when only ninth at Southwell last time. Bit to prove.
Kalanisi gelding. Half-brother to fairly useful hurdler/useful chaser Theo and fair hurdler Captain Lob, stays 2½m. Dam unraced. Little show in 2 points in 2016.
Point winner who looks more of a long-term project under Rules, down the field in a novice at Cartmel 38 days ago.
Modest in bumpers and similar story initially in this sphere. However, big step forward on first start following wind surgery when runner-up at Market Rasen last month. Leading claims.
Related to plenty of winners but hasn't offered much in bumpers.
Showed a fair level of ability on bumper debut at Carlisle but disappointed at Southwell next time and made no impression at Wetherby on hurdling bow. Up against it back from 7 months off.
Poor maiden hurdler who is very hard to fancy having been pulled up in a novice at Southwell last time.
Forecasts
Pisgah Pike (1/2), Decoration Of War (4/1), Nikgarde (5/1), Small Present (16/1), Ninepin Bowler (16/1), Flutter Down (20/1), Crow Stone (50/1), Be The Difference (50/1), Sweet Flora (66/1), Saint Arvans (66/1), Pass Rusher (100/1), Myburg (100/1), O'Grady's Boy (125/1), Bushypark (125/1), Ballyvictieres (200/1)
PISGAH PIKE took a marked step forward when runner-up (pair clear) to the talented Sangha River at Market Rasen last time and going one better should prove no more than a formality in a particularly weak novice. Decoration of War is the obvious danger but very few others make any appeal.
- PISGAH PIKE (IRE)
- DECORATION OF WAR (IRE)
- NIKGARDE (FR)
