Smart hurdler who won his first 3 starts on the Flat in 2019. Had winning run ended at Newmarket on last outing in this code but remains with some scope from this mark on hurdling form.
Got off the mark for the season at Kempton in July, but was seen to good effect on that occasion and wasn't in the same form back there last time.
Three early-season 12f wins at Southwell and has continued in good form, fifth of 9 in 2m handicap (14/1) at Kempton (16f) 41 days ago. Needs to eke out some more improvement though.
Improved for fitting of a visor last term, completing hat-trick in small-field handicap at Chelmsford in August. Made an underwhelming return at Newmarket but will be better off back at this trip.
Infrequent winner, but capable on his day and has run well on all 4 of his starts over this trip upon resumption.
Generally progressive, making a winning return at Lingfield (12f, AW) in January 2019, and understandably shaped as if needing the run after 19 months off at Windsor 2 weeks ago. Back up in trip.
Has failed to add to 2-y-o debut success for Brian Meehan, but shaped well when third over C&D on penultimate start.
2 wins from 4 runs this year, latest at Kempton in June. Creditable third back there since but needs to pull out a bit more if she's to defy her current mark back on turf.
Juvenile hurdle winner who ran well when runner-up on yard debut at Wolverhampton in February and remains unexposed as a stayer.
C&D winner who would be a threat if back to something like his best, but has yet to fire this season.
C&D last summer who has posted a trio of respectable efforts this term, doing a shade too much in first-time blinkers at Ascot last time. Should remain competitive with the cheekpieces reapplied.
Fourteen runs since her last win in 2017, but she shaped as if retaining ability after 14 months off when fourth of 13 in 14f handicap at Haydock 12 days ago and is likely to come on for the run.
Forecasts
Gumball (3/1), Young Merlin (5/1), Calculation (6/1), Seinesational (8/1), Platitude (8/1), Kaloor (8/1), Vibrance (10/1), Fire Jet (18/1), Mukha Magic (20/1), Yellow Tiger (20/1), Soghan (25/1), Jersey Wonder (33/1)
A tricky finale. CALCULATION made an underwhelming return at Newmarket in June but he'd taken off when stepped up to 1m6f last year, so is worth another chance to pick up the progressive thread back at this trip. Yellow Tiger remains unexpsoed as a stayer, while Fire Jet is another who could go well with her reappearance behind her.
