Campaigned over fences last season, scoring at Ludlow (3m). Respectable reappearance run at Market Rasen and may strip fitter with that behind him.
Grade 2 winner in his younger days. Completion record over fences took a big dent in 2019 but lower in the weights over timber and he offered a lot more when third at Uttoxeter 6 weeks ago.
Well prepared when routing the opposition in 12-runner handicap at Southwell at the start of July. Far too keen back in trip when failing to repeat that effort at Market Rasen.
Fairly useful stayer on Flat for Ed Dunlop. Has shown similar level of form over timber, winning novice events at Huntingdon and Stratford last twice. Respected now handicapping.
Usually runs his race but winless since 2018 and he typically didn't look that enthusiastic when fourth of 12 on Market Rasen return. First-time blinkers need to have positive effect.
Fairly useful hurdler who likely would have made a winning return at Market Rasen but for bad mistake at the last (3 lengths up at time). 4 lb rise unlikely to prevent another prominent showing.
Won twice here last season (including this trip) and arrives on the back of a 2m Flat success at Newcastle last month. Back on a winning mark in this sphere and another to consider.
Irish bumper winner who came good over hurdles in Newton Abbot handicap a year ago. Absent for 9 months after Kempton chase debut fall last autumn but returned with good second back at Newton Abbot.
Multiple winner early last year and served notice that he may be ready to get his head back in front again when second at Bangor (23f, good to soft0 19 days ago. Player.
Signed off for 2019 with victory in 25f handicap at Hereford but was comfortably held on both comeback starts last month.
Veteran who was in fine form over fences last autumn, but has failed to complete on last 4 starts (including reappearance) and now reverts to hurdles.
Fit from Flat, added to course maiden success in 2018 when landing 20.5f Southwell handicap a month ago. Up 5 lb in a deeper race now, though.
Had a consistent spell in first half of last season, winning at Newton Abbot and even better form when placed on next 2 starts. Much depends on whether he's primed after 9 months off.
Forecasts
Shantou Village (5/1), Dagueneau (11/2), Black Buble (6/1), Ballon Onabudget (7/1), Lungarno Palace (7/1), Theclockisticking (17/2), Fleeting Visit (9/1), Final Choice (11/1), Cresswell Legend (18/1), That's A Given (18/1), Sebastian Beach (25/1), Anteros (50/1), Doctor Look Here (66/1)
A competitive staying handicap in which a narrow vote goes the way of BLACK BUBLE on the back of his good second at Bangor last time. Lungarno Palace, who likely would have won at Market Rasen but for making a hash of the last, Dagueneau and Shantou Village head the many possible dangers.
- BLACK BUBLE (FR)
- LUNGARNO PALACE (USA)
- DAGUENEAU (IRE)
