Has become a standing dish when the ground turns soft, with all but one of his 12 wins coming in slow conditions. Goes into this 3lb lower than the most recent of those, last season, and looks a likely contender.
Sole win came almost two years ago at York (5½f, good to soft) in novices' company. 0-9 in handicaps thus far, but you couldn't rule him out from this mark if he has come on since his reappearance.
Dual 6f course winner, including on soft ground. 3lb higher here than the more recent of those successes and looks to have a stiff task on these terms, judged on recent efforts.
All three of his turf wins have been on soft/heavy, so he has his conditions here, while two of those were at this track. 3lb higher than the more recent of those, in June, but should again be very competitive.
Multiple sprint winner who acts on soft and went very close over C&D last time out, when 1lb lower. Is on a consistent run of form, so should be thereabouts, but needs to eek out a bit more to score again.
Arrives in red hot form with three wins from her last four starts, two of them over C&D. Acts on soft, and carries a 6lb penalty for her latest win at Newcastle, but that still may not be sufficient to stop her.
0-11 so far and went very close to scoring over C&D (soft) last time, which was a career-best effort, though in a novice event. More needed from the same mark back in a nursery.
Has been showing improved form of late, going close at Thirsk, before winning both there (5f, good) and Ayr (5f, soft) in a 0-60. Up 5lb and in a better race here, but has to be taken very seriously.
Sole win came on soft/heavy when trained in Ireland (7f). Has run some good races for this trainer, but not lately. Plummeting in the handicap as a result, and would be interesting if there is significant support.
Earned back-to-back wins last September (both 5f, good to soft), the more recent when on today's mark. Has been held in all four runs this season, but looks to retain last season's ability, so don't rule her out.
Prolific winner who has scored here seven times on ground ranging from good to heavy. Arrives on the back of a win at Musselburgh last time (0-65), and if in that sort of form, she has claims from 4lb higher.
Forecasts
Quanah (7/2), Lyons Lane (9/2), Lady Celia (6/1), Jewel Maker (6/1), Astrophysics (8/1), Ballyare (10/1), Economic Crisis (11/1), Twentysixthstreet (11/1), Show Palace (16/1), Lara Silvia (28/1), Three Card Trick (28/1)
Economic Crisis could run another big race here, arriving on the back of a win, while Lyons Lane looks a contender along with Show Palace and Quanah. However, LADY CELIA is in irresistible form and is taken to win again.
- Lady Celia
- Lyons Lane
- Economic Crisis
