Off since last October but did put together a sequence of three placed efforts in this sort of company. He needs to prove he can go well fresh but isn't over-faced for this seasonal return. (Notable he was well backed the last two times he ran.)
Paid his way over the years and can still be a force at this level; was second in a similar race last month and, as this is no stronger, he has to merit a place on the shortlist at least.
Well held on seasonal/stable debut at Bath last month but possible that trip (5.5f) was on the sharp side for him. The gelding has gone well here and, with the step up in trip a plus point, he looks set for another bold effort.
Wears cheekpieces for the first time no doubt in an effort to alter what has been complete reversal from his early promise. Latest efforts have been poor and it's difficult to make a strong case in his favour at this stage.
Last win came in a lady riders race over an extended 5f at Bath but he seems to have lost his way since then; and his form for his current yard has been moderate at best. The return to 7f needs to bring a big turnabout in his fortunes.
Versatile regarding the surface but notable he's never raced at this course until now; and he needs to bounce back from what was a lacklustre effort at Leicester in June; snippets of past form are respectable but consistency isn't a strong point.
Improved on his previous efforts when tried in a handicaps latest (that form was boosted by a winner coming out of the race yesterday). Connections keep faith in the hood and he's not got much to find to make the frame in this company.
Best effort so far when fourth of eight at Chepstow 10 days ago and it'll be interesting to see if the market suggests the filly can use that as a stepping-stone to success here. Reasonable place claims in a weak race.
Tries a new combination of headgear in an effort to register what would be the filly's first piece of worthwhile form; she's hardly beaten a horse to the finish line in any of her previous starts and isn't difficult to leave out of the betting plan.
Five starts in and he's yet to capture the imagination as anything other than an also ran; very little going for him so far and is another that's easy to sidestep.
Best effort so far when second in a C&D seller back in February but held twice since; including when finishing down the field in low-key event at Leicester nine days ago. Hard to recommend having an interest on that evidence
Finished fourth of five at Ripon latest and, although she's being kept busy - this is her fourth run since the end of June - she's shown very little up to press and needs a big improvement in her first crack at 7f.

Not too many of these stand out as worthy betting propositions, as the likes of Aiguillette, Deeds Not Words, and Mont Kiara all have their quirks and wouldn't be ones to trust without reservation. Neither in truth would SIMPLY SIN given that he's not stood much racing up to press. However, he did run with a bit of promise last time out and, as this won't take much winning, he edges the vote as the one with the most scope to succeed. Global Acclamation is back over a more appropriate trip and is also feared at this level. Deeds Not Words is suggested as the best of the rest.
