Encountered a potentially smart individual (who won again at Chester last night) latest. That was a better performance than the one he posted in the Super Sprint at Newbury. Has a race within him and will be a big player if handling Tapeta.

Bred for sprinting but well held in both previous starts (both at Windsor). Needs a big step forward now. Something to prove on AW debut too.

Was keen on debut but eventually easily brushed aside; much more needed here but will at least be wiser. Notable the headgear is dispensed with on this occasion.

Has experience of this course but wasn't able to muster a strong challenge in either of his previous starts. Another that needs to find improvement.

Bumped at the start on debut here and never got into a rhythm afterwards; the market can guide as to whether he learned anything that day. He's bred to be effective at the trip and pedigree suggests AW shouldn't be an issue. One to monitor closely.

A cheap purchase but there's plenty of speed in the pedigree. His yard is noted for patience but there are signs the trainer's string is hitting form; worth considering if supported in the betting.

Ran green on debut and was struggling from a long way out. Another that ought to know more this time but already has improvement to find.

Cost 32,000 gns as a yearling, the filly made a pleasing start at Newcastle and its possible she can get a lot closer to, if not get the better of, the re-opposing Navajo Spring; pedigree does suggest a longer trip will suit before long, though.

Attracted market interest each time she's run so far and has shaped with a fair amount of consistency. Wide draw not ideal but could be up to the task. One of the likelier winners (was way too good for Electric Blue the last time they met).

Forecasts

Electric Blue (13/8), Aussie Stormer (7/4), Navajo Spring (4/1), Starseed (12/1), Hotalena (16/1), Jazzy Socks (20/1), Khabib (33/1), Atiyah (40/1), Dark Alibi (66/1), The Tron (250/1)

Verdict

NAVAJO SPRING has been consistent so far and can be fancied to just hold sway over Electric Blue if they run to the same levels as when they met at Newcastle in June. The Tron has more to offer and could be a surprise package, while Aussie Stormer also shapes as if he can hold his own at this level and he might just be the more potent threat this time around.
  1. Navajo Spring
  2. Electric Blue
  3. Aussie Stormer
