In good form when last seen, in the frame in similar contests at Haydock and Kelso (disqualified, failed to weigh in) but still 7lb higher than last win and likely to need this run after an absence.
Very useful at best but well beaten on first start for this yard (on the Flat) at Doncaster last month, that coming off the back of an absence. Fairly treated if he can bounce back, but that looks unlikely.
Comes here on a bit of a roll, having won four of his last five starts (all in small fields, hurdles and chases) and showed a good attitude at Market Rasen last time. Up another 5lb but likely conditions fine, and must have chances.
Stablemate of Craigmor, but claims less obvious on second start for this yard after pulling up at Southwell last time. Possible excuses can be found for that, but yet to show this trip is what he wants, and others readily preferred.
First start for this yard after raicng in France, where he did win a handicap in heavy ground back in 2018. Wears a tongue tie here, but having not raced for well over a year, is likely to need the run.
Raced mainly over fences last year, but is a three-time winner over hurdles that stays well and won't mind if the rain does come. Hasn't raced since February but has gone well fresh before, and on a fair mark, isn't discounted.
Comes here after a game win at Cartmel, rallying in the shadows of the post to get back up again. Up 4lb in a tougher race but has less question marks against him than many here, is not ground dependant, and should go well.
Last seen out in January when successful over 3m at Musselburgh, winning easily and looking like he had more to offer. Probably wouldn't want the ground too deep but if fit after absence, must be one with a live chance.
Generally consistent, but threw in a right stinker when well beaten at Cartmel last month (trainer had no explanation). Probably best to forgive that, and would have chances on the best of his form of last year.
Forecasts
Chocolat Noir (11/4), Petite Ganache (11/4), Craigmor (3/1), No Hiding Place (11/1), Court Baloo (11/1), St Lawrence Gap (20/1), Caboy (22/1), Blue Rambler (25/1), Cairnshill (28/1)
CHOCOLAT NOIR showed a good attitude to rally and get back up to score at Cartmel on her latest start and given she is less ground dependant than a few here, she won't mind if the rains do come either. A 4lb rise for that is fair and given she's a course win to her name too, she has a lot going for her in her quest to follow up. Petite Ganache might not want too much rain but stays well and has chances if ready to go after an absence. Craigmor has a nice habit of winning and that stands him in good stead here.
- Chocolat Noir
- Petite Ganache
- Craigmor
