5f AW winner at Lingfield on second start showing improved form under a prominent ride. Followed up with a respectable runner-up slot on nursery debut (beaten by one on a more favourable mark), may find one or two better weighted again.

Blinkers worn for last two starts are retained for handicap debut (fifth start) having shown some fair form so far. Ran his best race last time when 5L seventh in Super Sprint (5f) at Newbury, best form at 5f, has the widest draw to cope with.

Speedy type, showed more than on her debut last time at Hamilton (5f) when beaten by a subsequent impressive nursery winner (Acklam Express). Only worn down close home, may well appreciate this shaper 5f and better ground on handicap debut.

Cheekpieces go on for the first-time (nursery debut) having looked to be a steady improver rather than progressive type. Did too much too soon when making her AW debut last time at Wolverhampton (6.1f), well drawn, suited by the return to 5f.

Fifth on her debut at Pontefract (5f) showing speed/ability she's failed to build on that outing in two subsequent 5f minor events. Gone backwards since, now steps into handicaps for the first time with something to prove against some useful types.

Forecasts

Cuban Breeze (6/4), Different Face (2/1), Madreselva (3/1), Ready Freddie Go (7/2), Virginia Plane (6/1), Power On (17/2), Plum Run (16/1), All About Charley (33/1)

Verdict

As with most early nurseries most of these can be given some sort of chance but this sharp 5f looks ideal for MADRESELVA who wasn’t beaten far by an impressive Goodwood nursery winner (Acklam Express) last time at Hamilton. She showed good speed that day and this test looks ideal off a fair opening mark. Different Face was the horse second to Acklam Express at Goodwood and whilst that form gives her a fair chance she may be a little vulnerable off topweight. Ready Freddy Go is another expected to be suited by this speed test after his easy Musselburgh win the well-drawn Cuban Breeze another to include in calculations.
  1. Madreselva
  2. Ready Freddie Go
  3. Different Face
