Made it 2-2 with Newbury novice win on reappearance and far from disgraced since when last of six in the Dante at York (started 20-1, beaten 8¼L). Sights lower but shipping weight on h'cap bow.

Son of Golden Horn now 2-3 in handicaps after winning at Windsor and Newmarket recently, both over this sort of trip. More on his plate from new mark and in higher grade but remains on the upgrade.

Colt by Golden Horn; off the mark at third attempt last season when winning Wolverhampton novice over 1m½f in September; off since but very much type to excel upped in distance this season and commands attention on return.

Beaten by a useful-looking debutant Frankel colt on his return at Newcastle in June and since won a Leicester maiden (1m2f, good) and Newmarket h'cap (1m4f, soft). Potential for better but collateral form suggests more needed to beat Grand Bazaar.

2-2 on the AW but winless in five on turf so far; recent good efforts at Leicester and Sandown over 1m2f were encouraging but likely needs improvement with in-form champion jockey taking over here.

Age: 3|  Weight: 8-5| J: J Mitchell| T: R Hannon| OR:  79
22/1
Winner of 1m AW maiden at Lingfield on seasonal return; went close again on h'cap bow at Windsor (1m2f, good) later in June but found out in Class 3 Sandown contest last time. Has to improve again in this field.

Forecasts

Grand Bazaar (11/4), Shandoz (10/3), Wise Glory (10/3), Bronze River (4/1), Al Madhar (13/2), Orczy (22/1)

Verdict

Shandoz should be doing well over this sort of trip in the months ahead and any money for him on seasonal bow should be noted. Al Madhar shed his unbeaten record in the Dante at York and is respected going into a handicap for the first time but does have a burden to carry. The hat-trick seeking Grand Bazaar remains capable of better but WISE GLORY ears the nod after wins at Leicester and Newmarket. His yard remains in superb form and he may find more improvement forthcoming back on a sounder surface after defying soft going at HQ last time.
  1. Wise Glory
  2. Grand Bazaar
  3. Al Madhar
