Useful sort on the Flat, dual novice hurdle winner at Stratford last June having shown promise on his debut over timber. Below-par returned to the same course last time in a handicap (first-time blinkers), drops in grade now, fair chance.

Won three handicap hurdles for this yard, not disgraced since returning from ten months off but hard to say he improved for his reappearance. Jumping still lets him down on occasions, cheekpieces now used again, stiff task at the weights.

Improved when winning back-to-back handicap hurdles over similar trips last year for Fergal O'Brien. Easy to back on return for new yard (first-time tongue-tie fitted, retained here), hard to recommend given the task he has at the weights.

Winner over fences last year off a mark of 128 (rated far lower over hurdles), beaten a long way over fences here last time (jumping let him down). GB hurdles record stands at 0-9, unreliable sort and makes little appeal, yard rather quiet.

Quirky sort who despite those foibles landed a hat-trick over hurdles last spring holding things together well enough. Since managed a chasing win (below hurdles form), little impact since including back over hurdles last time, only limited appeal.

Talented in the past; struggled for the most part these days, most recent win coming when he took advantage of a much-reduced mark last summer over fences. Failed to build on the promise shown on return last time, well-in at weights, hard to trust.

Landed a selling handicap over hurdles last February but has since then been typically more miss than hit. Usually a front runner his unreliable nature means that he's hard to recommend here especially on these terms.

Forecasts

Jimmy Rabbitte (2/1), Henryville (5/2), Adjutant (3/1), Candy Burg (11/1), Malangen (12/1), Stonemadforspeed (18/1), Dan Gun (40/1)

Verdict

Hard to work up much enthusiasm for this group at the weights Henryville has a fine chance to roll back the years but there has to be some doubts about how reliable he is these days and his ability over hurdles. The Bowen yard who also run Candy Burg are also very quiet and ADJUTANT is given a tentative vote having not fared too badly in a decent handicap last time at Stratford. He’s badly off at the weights with Henryville but looks slightly more reliable. Jimmy Rabbitte steps out of handicap company with his jumping still likely to hold him back although in a weak affair he can be given a chance. Malangen and Dan Gun are hurdles winners but both would need others to falter to figure.
  1. Adjutant
  2. Jimmy Rabbitte
  3. Henryville
